Our Preparatory (boys and girls) and Senior School (girls only) Councils are well established. Students are elected to represent each Year group. Class Council meetings allow all pupils to voice their opinions and make suggestions; their representatives then take ideas to School Council meetings.
The Preparatory and Senior School Councils aim to give the students a voice and a sense of responsibility for their School. They also encourage speaking and listening skills and enable participants to develop as good citizens.
The Councils elect students into positions such as Chairperson and two deputy chairpersons. Candidates are required to deliver a short speech explaining why they would be suitable for the role. The Council votes for the individual they feel would fulfil the role with integrity and act as a guide and role model for the members and student body as a whole.
Once each term the Councils meet, the Prep. meet on a Wednesday morning before the start of the School day and the Seniors meet on a pre-arranged lunchtime.
